I'm all for early communication, but this seems quite a bit early. It also seemed incomplete. Does it to you?
I'm wondering if every employee has blocked out all 22 working afternoons in the month of January between 2 and 3 pm.
It didn't get any better with the next sign I saw. It was nearly the same as the one above, except it added a bit more info (and had a bit more color): Thursday. Okay, now I only have to block out 4-5 afternoons between 2 and 3--depending on whether they're open or closed on the 2nd of January. Maybe next month they'll provide the actual date. No, that'd be too soon. They'll probably narrow it down by the half-month in October, the week in November, and finally announce the date in December. I'm sure the whole thing started months ago:
March 2013--Announcement (Wow, you got my attention!)
April 2013--Announcement 2:00-3:00 pm (That's intriguing.)
May 2013--Announcement 2014 2:00-3:00 pm (Can't wait. Hope it's not at the end of 2014.)
June 2013--Announcement Meeting 2014 2:00-3:00 pm
(Oh, it's only a meeting. Maybe I don't have to attend.)
July 2013--Announcement Meeting January 2014 2:00-3:00 pm
(Well, at least it's in the first part of the year.)
August 2013--Announcement Employee Meeting January 2014 2:00-3:00 pm (I'm invited!)
September 2013--Announcement Employee Meeting Thursday January 2014 2:00 -3:00 pm
(So I can't take any Thursdays off in January now.)
October 2013--Announcement Employee Meeting Thursday January 2014 after the 15th 2:00 -3:00 pm
(Phew, my ski vacation after New Year's is safe.)
November 2013--Announcement Employee Meeting Thursday January 2014 week of 20th 2:00 -3:00 pm
(No customer visits that week. Ah, finally, enough clues I can put it in my calendar.)
December 2013--Announcement Employee Meeting Thursday January 23rd 2:00 - 3:00 pm
(Ho hum, kind of anti-climatic at this point. I almost missed that there was a new sign.)
